Three Months Old.

So, here I am. On August 21, I turned 3 months old and boy have things changed! For starters, just look how much I've grown since I was born!

Some things that I enjoy doing are tummy time, gnawing on my hands, and sitting up like a big boy. (I can't sit on my own yet, but I get help from Mommy, Daddy, and the BeBe Pod.) I drool a ton, as you can see from my one tummy time picture. Mommy hates to think about what will happen once I start teething!

Developmentally, I'm progressing just fine. One day after my 3 month birthday, I slept through the night. Mommy was overjoyed when she awoke to realize that I slept from 7:30pm to 6:30am! I have only done that once, so far, though. I have to keep the 'rents on their toes, after all! Two days after my birthday, I rolled over from my back to my belly and the next day I rolled from my belly to my back! At nighttime, I've been rolling over and sleeping on my belly after I get tucked in, making Mom worry like crazy. But, I mean, how many of YOU like to sleep flat on your backs?? Also, I am able to lift my head and I wiggle around like I want to crawl, but my arms are too weak. Daddy thinks I need to do some push ups to get stronger...I think he's crazy!

Alright, I'm wiped out now and Mom says I need to go to bed so that she can enjoy a glass of wine. Goodnight!

Love,

Cousins.

Ben is no longer the youngest cousin on my side! My brother and his girlfriend had their baby, Chelsea Samantha, yesterday. She weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 18 1/2 inches long. I swore she was lighter than Benjamin, but she was 4 ounces heavier. Boy, how quickly one forgets how small newborns are! Chelsea has a head full of hair. In fact, it is more than Ben has now at 3 months! It really is such an amazing thing to have a child and I couldn't be happier for them. Congratulations!

Workin' 9-5.

Well, today was Ben's first day at daycare and I must admit, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. When I dropped him off, he was all smiles and happy as a clam. There are only three infants total at the school and two caretakers on the infant side, so it is a great ratio. They gave me a full report when I picked him up which listed his diaper changes, feedings, activities, and naps. He seemed to be taken care of very well and the only way I could be happier is if I was the one caring for him all day...a girl can dream! The one thing they did say was that he was a "cat napper" and didn't sleep very much. They said he was a nosey little boy and loved looking around. I got him home and he slept for 3 hours!! He sure was tuckered out.

As for me, being back at work isn't so bad. I kind of actually enjoyed getting back out there and talking to adults! I'm sure that will pass, though. I've never been one to LOVE working!

I hope you are all doing well. Ben misses you!

2 Months

Okay, so I've seriously been slacking on the blog, BUT that's because I've been so busy and enjoying my time off with Benjamin. Where should I begin??

Ben turned 2 months old and is a big boy! He weighs 12.4 ounces and is 23 3/4 inches long! He is in the 75th percentile for weight and there is not a day that goes by without me hearing, "Boy, he is BIG for 2 months!" He is quite the active guy now, too. Of course the video is sideways because I'm an amateur, but you get the picture. ;-)

And, for the best development...Ben is now SMILING! It just melts my heart. So, even when he is waking me up in the middle of the night for a bottle AND then for good at 6:30am, I can't help but smile along with him.

Our Chicago trip was fantastic! Benjamin was an angel on the plane ride out there. The ride home was another story, but that's okay. We got to catch up with old friends and got a lot of quality time with Brad's cousins and uncle.

Ben and I also went to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. It was really a great place, but I guess not the most exciting for babies.

I go back to work on August 13th. I am really dreading it. Ben will be going to a great daycare that is right on our block and I know he will be well taken care of, but I just wish we were in the position for me to stay home with him. Some day...hopefully sooner rather than later!
